Harvesting the power in our feelings

By Jena Griffiths | September 25, 2014

Most of us try everything to avoid feeling pain,
or any strong difficult emotions.
Here’s a liberating exercise. A way to harvest the power caught up inside any inner storm.

Close your eyes and scan your body.
Notice what you are feeling. Where is it?
Is it behind your eyes? In your chest? Somewhere else?
Then feel the feeling free of any thoughts you have about it,
without judging the feeling as good or bad.
Feel the power of it. Allow its energy to build
and vibrate through your body.
Then feel love for the feeling just the way it is
and love yourself for feeling the feeling.

The intensity of any feeling is a power.
Your power.
And you can reclaim your power by simply appreciating that you can feel it.

This exercise comes from Arnold Patient’s book You can have it all.
“The more willing we are to feel our feelings, the more able we are to connect with the love that resides in them. “ says Patient

What can you do to help combat global warming?

By Jena Griffiths | September 25, 2014

Why isn’t global warming more obvious?
This picture explains it. Our planet is mostly water.
The ocean is absorbing the heat.

The danger?
Under the ocean and under Arctic ice there are huge reserves of methane.
We need to harvest or freeze this methane before the ocean releases it into the atmosphere.

What can you do to help combat global warming?
1. take a stand/be heard Sign a petition Be informed #Climate #PeoplesClimateBlog
2. reduce your own carbon footprint, walk or cycle more
3. Support zero emissions technology
4. Invent or support brilliant ideas to clean up our world and help combat global warming
Some examples?
Convert plastic waste back into oil

every village or community needs one of these brilliant machines. Get one or more.
Ask your local community to invest in one?
Solar roads

Another brilliant idea.
More about backing this project here
Invent stuff like this – Create electricity in cities by walking

Ask what happened to all the cool inventions like – Create electricity with salt water ??????
Why aren’t these breakthroughs happening? Demand them.

Perhaps the most pressing challenge
Help dream up a way to Harvest Methane
Lobby coal, gas and oil industries to switch to methane harvesting as a priority – ask them to fund the prize money
Participate, dream, invent, share or back a way to do this – click here.

A video from NASA on 2014 Arctic ice depletion
Yes, the clock is ticking but….. we can do this!

Do you need a spiritual partner?

By Jena Griffiths | September 9, 2014

Next hand shape archetype we’re exploring with Richard Unger is called Cosmic Staircase
September 23 & 30, 2014
Take a look at your finger tips.
Is the pinky finger is much pointier than the other finger tips? The little finger is about communication and pointy tips indicates a person who is spiritually focused. There’s more to it than that. Perhaps you need your partner to be more engaged in your interests. Are you communicating your needs?

Tribute to Robin Williams – Carpe Diem

By Jena Griffiths | August 12, 2014

“Seize the day. ”
This is the message Robin Williams leaves us with. Loud and clear, even in his final act.

Dear Robbie, we salute you. Go well great spirit.
We never know what’s realyl going on in another person’s life.

If you are contemplating suicide, please try this: Lie on your back. Knees bent. Hands on floor palms up.
Breath in very deeply into your belly and when it fills keep breathing in and open your chest. Then relax and do again and again. Open the back of your throat to allow even more air to reach your belly. Smile.
Your mind is a blue sky. The feeling is a dark cloud. Breathe in the blue sky. Fill your belly with a golden ball of sunshine. Breathe it in even deeper til the sun fills your chest too til you can breathe in no more. Relax and breathe out simply by letting go.
Feel the dark underbelly of the cloud shifting. It will move soon. There it goes…

You are blue sky behind the storm. And the storm will pass.

Here are some articles about Robin in Forbes by Matthew Herper that could really help.
The article includes Stephen Fry’s letter of advice to anyone with depression: “Emotions are like weather – it will be sunny one day.”
Earth School has numerous interviews on depression – use the search button to find them.
I think the best for this is Judith Kravitz’s work. Interview with her is here. Practitioners who can help you worldwide in transformational breath go here.

and more of my thoughts on this. Also see my post Think like a diver or click on depression in the side bar for more.
An interesting story worth reading is Buckminster Fuller’s“Guinea Pig B”

Good luck! Write below to reach out.

Are you in danger of tunnel vision?

By Jena Griffiths | August 8, 2014

“Right Thought is mastery” James Allen, As a Man Thinketh

Most of the tunnels in our lives are self created.

The good news is we can trim back the overgrowth.
Reshape our perspective. Or even reinvent our world view
and, as a result, our destiny.

How?
Constant pruning and management of our thoughts.
Every few years I re-read As a Man Thinketh, by James Allen.
If you haven’t yet read this old classic
download your copy here as a gift.

It’s easy to overlook how important this is.
I’ve just spent 2 weeks exploring my own tangled tunnel vision
while traveling through all the leafy green tunnels in Southern England.
Frequently marveling at how no-one in any of the roofless
double-decker tourist buses ever gets decapitated. 😉

It requires an act of faith to stay seated and enjoy the ride.
And lots of pruning by the road keepers.

Personal growth is just as organic and surprising.
It too requires an act of faith to stay seated and enjoy the ride.
And constant pruning to avoid decapitation.

James Allen says to root out all self doubt.
But that would be like blitzing all the shady trees on the wayside.
Do you want to always take the highway
or sometimes the more interesting back roads?
Instead of beating yourself up for long, slow, seemingly insane detours,
trust your instincts and inner guidance.
It is only in retrospect that we realize divine method in the madness.
Maybe you met someone, or learned something, you wouldn’t have otherwise?
Perhaps doubts give us shade and rest,
allowing us to go at our own pace. With grace and serendipity
rather than with frazzled nerves and burnt-out batteries.
Why not befriend your doubts rather than attempt total eradication?
As long as you maintain a definiteness of purpose you’ll get there eventually.

How to do this?
Share your dreams and destination with that part of you that has
taken on the role of being your inner editor. And give him (or her)
the job of pruning the pathway of unnecessary overgrowth
rather than aborting your adventure entirely.

What is your definiteness of purpose?
And which of your tunnels need pruning?
For fresh and original insight into your own life journey,
book a consultation with the author of this post. 😉

What to do about climate Change – Operation Methane Harvest

By Jena Griffiths | July 9, 2014

Here’s a short video that effectively demonstrates what is right now pouring into our atmosphere in huge volumes wherever arctic ice is melting.
Why should you be concerned?

Why is this important?
This is really dangerous for life on this planet because Methane (CH4) is much much more potent than CO2 in trapping heat in our atmosphere and oceans. The challenge for us humans is this: there are vast reserves of frozen Methane under every ocean and under melting ice sheets. This methane is being released as the oceans warm and the ice melts.

How much more potent is Methane?
Estimates range between 86 times more potent and 26 times more potent depending on if you are looking at 10 year or 100 year figures. (Over a 10 year period Methane is 86 times more potent than Carbon Dioxide and over a 100 year period 26 times more potent.)

Why isn’t Global warming more visible?
Here’s an image and a video that show how the oceans have been absorbing most of the heat until now and how that impacts Methane release.

What can we do?
1. Find a philanthropist who is willing to invest prize money that will inspire serious contenders to invest time in finding a solution.
2. Put your own brain to work. Dream up a solution or join a think tank to spark ideas off other people to solve this challenge.
3. Host a think tank through a university and get expert facilitation free of charge.
4. Ask everyone you know, even lobby oil and other energy companies, to fund this solution-seeking challenge.
We still have a chance

to harvest this Methane before it escapes into the atmosphere.
5. Explore ways to put carbon back into the soil or earth

See comments below for more data
Here’s a good summary of what is at stake
