Harvesting the power in our feelings

By Jena Griffiths | September 25, 2014

Most of us try everything to avoid feeling pain,
or any strong difficult emotions.
Here’s a liberating exercise. A way to harvest the power caught up inside any inner storm.

Close your eyes and scan your body.
Notice what you are feeling. Where is it?
Is it behind your eyes? In your chest? Somewhere else?
Then feel the feeling free of any thoughts you have about it,
without judging the feeling as good or bad.
Feel the power of it. Allow its energy to build
and vibrate through your body.
Then feel love for the feeling just the way it is
and love yourself for feeling the feeling.

The intensity of any feeling is a power.
Your power.
And you can reclaim your power by simply appreciating that you can feel it.

This exercise comes from Arnold Patient’s book You can have it all.
“The more willing we are to feel our feelings, the more able we are to connect with the love that resides in them. “ says Patient
